Enokitake is a real winter mushroom. It generally grows in late autumn and winter, and is resistant to frost.

Range: Temperate climates around the world.
 
Enoki grows on trees including oak, beech, willow, birch, poplar and alder.
Cultivation on substrate: wood chips and like the oyster mushroom on coffe spent ground
 
Preparation and taste: Very tasty mushroom. Prepare quickly over high heat. Good combination with vegetables, fish and chicken.
 
Attention! There are poisonous species similar to this mushroom. It concerns sorts from the genus Galerina or Conocybe.
